Fun times in the art room!

We are busy preparing for the art show. But as always art still goes on.

This last week in Kindergarten we worked on a one point perspective. Using a ruler the kids created their very own farm with lots of cute veggies and fruits. I'm pretty sure there was even pizza growing in their rows. We finished our drawings with a sharpie and the kids will color them in with colored pencils this Monday. We will begin our Matisse goldfish this week two. We will review lines and patterns. I think they will be gorgeous.

In first grade we did Matisse line swans. We then colored them with either cool or warm color crayons and painted them over with watercolors. They turned out beautiful. I will hopefully get pictures taken and uploaded tomorrow. This week we will do still life paintings of apples while studying Cezanne's Apples and Oranges.

In second grade we finished Himeji Castle. They turned out incredible. At first we tried to watercolor them accurately but when the kids got creative, I fell in love and told them to go for it. I loved them all. This week we will begin our study of John Audobon's Birds of America. They will then create their own beautiful piece picking a bird of their choice.

In third grade we wrapped up Munch's The Scream. They turned out absolutely gorgeous. The kids did a beautiful job and I'm so proud of them. This week we will review middle ground, foreground and back ground.
